The only transportation from Puerto Vallarta to Las Caletas is by boat. The trip is approximate one hour from the marina in Puerto Vallarta. Las Caletas features a secluded beach that was once the private paradise of Director, John Huston. Las Caletas is absolutely natural and beautiful. The beach features spectacular snorkeling and tropical vegetation. Visitors can explore the island and enjoy the magnificent wildlife, flora and fauna in the Sierra Padre Mountain backdrop. The island’s nature trail is designed by renowned botanist Charles Sacamano.
Las Caletas is like “Gilligan’s Island.” Visitors can snorkel and kayak in the clear, turquoise Pacific Ocean and discover a wide variety of tropical fish. Sea lions swim along the shore. Las Caletas features a parrot sanctuary and varieties of tropical birds.
If you are in the mood to relax, enjoy the hammocks on the beach. Meals are served in a café style restaurant by the sea. In the evening, Mayan shows are presented.
