Our first impression as we entered into the lobby of the Barceló Maya Tropical Resort was that of a fresh, clean, and inviting hotel.  We noted many fine touches within the lobby.  The floors were of polished marble and there were numerous Mayan influences in the architecture, artwork and sculptures strategically placed within the lobby.  We noticed sparkling glass tables with spectacular fresh flower arrangements and the sounds of flowing water from the fountains.  We experienced an immediate sense of relaxation, along with the excitement of the opportunity to tour Barceló’s newest hotels in the Mayan Riviera.

Our first impression of the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort was that this hotel is somewhat different from other hotels in the Mayan Riviera.  The architecture is European Contemporary and the structures are built in a circular configuration around / within the natural habitat of the property.  This hotel is encircled by nature. Guests can delight in the natural environment and preservation of the grounds.

Our first impression of the Iberostar Tucan Resort is that of happiness.  The hotel is bright, tropical, active and fun.  Guests enter the lobby and are greeted by brilliant colored parrots and toucans (the namesake of the hotel).  After getting past the bird cages, one will notice the stained glass toucan window about the lobby bar. The Iberostar Tucan is a wonderful, happy hotel.

The Ocean Coral Resort and Ocean Turquesa Resorts are new upscale all-inclusive resorts that are situated on a wide and beautiful sandy beach. 

As we entered the lobby of the Ocean Coral Resort (The Ocean Turquesa lobby is located to the right of the Ocean Coral lobby) we felt an immediate sense of relaxation.  The soft ivory fabric of the draperies was flowing with the ocean breezes through the open-air lobby.

Our first impression of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya was that of an impeccably well-polished and shining new hotel.  The air-conditioned lobby was refreshing.  The crystal chandeliers, artwork, dark wood furniture, fresh floral arrangements, metal work and exquisite fabrics used in the draperies were all reassuring that this hotel would meet all of our expectations and anticipations.  We felt an air of enthusiasm as we began our tour of the Riu Palace Riviera
