Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf Club

Designated “Best-of-the-Best” by Robb Report in 2006
Iberostar Hotel
s & Resorts proudly celebrates the one-year anniversary of their spectacular 18-hole, par 72-golf course at the Playa Paraíso Golf Club with praises from one of the world’s most respected interpreters of the luxury lifestyle. The Robb Report listed the P.B. Dye-designated course amount the “Best of the Best” in their “Journeys’ category for golf courses in luxury destinations that provide public access to their links.
Playa Paraiso’s graceful undulating greens, lush tees and narrowly sculpted fairways are lined in extensive stonework paying homage to the Mayan jungle. The golfer’s heartbeat and breathing find an easy rhythm. Eyes focus, the lower back muscles relax and the shoulders soften. Enjoy all that while it lasts as the 11th and 12th holes are waiting, lurking and poised to humble, especially if you are playing from the longer of the four sets of tees.

Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club is a Golfer’s Paradise
Iberostar’s renowned five-star all-inclusive service applies throughout Playa Paraiso’s entire 18
hole / 6,800 yard layout, where golfers can order on-course food and beverages. The gracious golf clubhouse stocks only the best rental equipment from Nike, Titleist and Mizuno. And both the driving range and practice green are lit up during the balmy nights so golfers can work on their swing in the moonlight. This might prove to be the best way to prepare for your round on one of PB Dye’s toughest designs. Be aware, however, one or two buckets of balls at the range may not be enough to conquer this DYEabolical design.
Legendary golf course designer P. B. Dye can be a bit of a devil in paradise. Not only is this a challenging golf course, boasting a slope of 136 but it is picturesque as well. In fact, if you ask Mr. Dye himself what is the signature hole at Playa Paraíso, he will tell you he built 18 of them. Holes 7 through 12 not only offer unlimited photo opportunities, there are considered Iberostar’s “Amen Corner”. One of the most difficult series of holes in golf will challenge even the best of players. The finishing hole, a long undulating par 5 gives you one final chance to get a stroke back. However, with the sloping postage stamp green the task may not be that easy.
The Mayan Riviera is emerging as a golf mecca to rival courses in Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo. The Playa Paraíso Golf Club is located adjacent to the four Iberostar Playa Paraíso resorts in the Riviera Maya:
Iberostar Grand Paraíso Resort (opening in December 2006 the most upscale of the Iberostar Resorts - adults only all-suites)
Guest at the four Iberostar Playa Paraíso resorts enjoy preferred rates and tee times on the course, which is also open to the public; hotel guests can pre-pay their rounds to book guaranteed tee times up to four months prior to arrival.
Iberostar Playa Paraiso's Green fees include:
Top-of-the-line rental equipment in both steel and graphite is available, enabling the golfer to travel light. The full-service pro shop carries the latest in men’s and ladies golf wear as well as a wide variety of accessories.
