Our first impression was that of a well-polished, somewhat quiet (we visited during low season), new resort complex that is perfectly situated on a spectacular stretch of powder white sand beach overlooking the turquoise ocean. We had a really good feeling about this resort.

White Sands Golf Course
Considered the new challenge for golfers in Punta Cana, the White Sands Golf Course is located in the heart of the Bavaro area and was designed by Pepe Gancedo, six times Spanish champion, well known as the “Picasso” of Golf course designers, and whose construction philosophy is based on the preservation of the original land.
The White Sands Golf Course initially with 9-holes and will complete a total of 18-holes in a second phase by the end of 2005. The White Sands Golf Course meets the International standards established by the USGA Rules of Golf Govern Play except where modified by local rules.
Pace of play is 4-and one-half hours. All yards are measured on the center green. PAR 72

The children’s program at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort offers children a complete entertainment program. Children ages are 4 to 12 years. Many activities are included, all under adult supervision. The Kids Club is available 7 days a week from 9:45 am to 12:00 pm and then again from 3:00 pm until 8:45 pm. The theater offers both adults and children different shows and activities until nightfall. At 8:45 pm, the theater becomes alive with music and dancing.
The “Panitas Mini-Disco” becomes available for adults and children where you enjoy many activities such as Dancing with Dominoes, Musical Chairs, Mini Miss or Mister, Arriba y Abajo and much more. Adults are more than welcome to accompany their children on such events. Many shows are available where the Animation Staff performs for the public by creating Theme Shows.

The restaurants at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort are distinctive and colorful. All of the restaurants are situated in one area and make a perfect meeting place eliminating the search and wait for friends and family. Each restaurant has a very different theme:

La Casa de mi Abuela, Dominican cuisine. This restaurant is designed like a typical Dominican home – so cozy and friendly.

Margarita, Mexican delights. This restaurant features a fiesta-like setting and the décor is bright and vibrant.

Mascherati di Venezia, Italian specialties. The Italian menu was extensive and one has the feeling that they are dining in Italy.

Route 66, American menu. A very popular meeting place late into the night. Stop by for a burger and enjoy the wonderful décor of days gone by. This restaurant will will bring back memories of the 50’s era.

La Brasa, Caribbean Grill. This restaurant features a Caribbean decor and features popular Caribbean specialties including seafood and rice selections.

The Wave Disco at the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort is located in the heart of the activities area and is a perfect spot to dance the night away.
In closing, the Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort was a very pleasant surprise for us. We will keep a close eye on this new resort and will report back with updates and additional information.
